My collection of artworks that delved into the unspoken realm of mental illness, aiming to manifest patients' inner turmoils and hopes through my paintings. The quest was to bridge the unseen gap between societal perception and those afflicted's raw, unfiltered psyche. I first came into this field because a close friend of mine suffered from depression due to family reasons. My initial work was inspired by the inner struggles she described for me and her desire for me to be her listener. By visually narrating her and other patients‘ mental landscapes, I want to deliver a sense of empathy, and understanding of mental health to the viewers, inviting viewers to explore deeper into the complexity of human emotions and experiences, meanwhile reminding them to understand and forgive unusual behaviors driven by their mental illness.
